Miss North Carolina here I come

Hello all,

I am deeply sorry that it has taken me so long to write about my adventures as Miss UNC-Pembroke. I have been extremely busy with perparations for Miss NC. I wanted to let you know about the things I have been envolved with since the last time I wrote.

Last Monday I turned 20 years old, and I must say I had a fabulous time celebrating with family and friends. Thank you all who made my birthday the best one to come smile After birthday madness, the UNCP team headed to Raleigh, NC for Miss NC rehearsal. I was totally excited and glad to finally be on the Miss NC stage. Rehearsal was a success and everything came together fantastically (if that is even a word.) I won't tell you anything, I want all of you to be surprised! All I can say is you will be very impressed with this year's pageant.

On Saturday my carolina princesses, their moms, and I headed back to Raleigh to Race for the Cure at Mereidith College. I had the wonderful opportunity to volunteer at the survivors tent, as well as hold up the signs for survivors to file in line for the walk. I had the chance to speak with many people across our state about my platform and the journey I was about to embark apon. I was also amazed at the stories I heard from survivors and caregivers about their struggles with Breast Cancer. Their stories make me so proud to have Breast Cancer awareness as my platform, and my heart goes out to each and every family who is dealing with this disease. Their stories made me realize once again why I do what I do, and how much passion and heart I have for the people of North Carolina.

Sunday was a super busy day with an appearance at Raynam Assembly of God for their youth Sunday service. Thank you to the chuch for giving me the opportunity to share my testimony and talents with you. I truly enjoyed the service and fellowship. After church I headed back to UNCP for my wardrobe showing. I must say everything went GREAT!!! I am very proud to be apart of the UNCP team, and everyone looked amazing. I believe we are very blessed with talent, intelligence, beauty, and the gift of having a loving community in our lives. Thank you to everyone who came out and showed your support for the UNCP team. Everything was a total success, and Brandi and I can only hope to represent you to the best of our abilities on the Miss North Carolina stage next week. Thank you for allowing us to come into your hearts and share our passion for the community and our platform's as we have worked our way to such an amazing accomplishment as competing for Miss NC's OT, and Miss NC.

I will be moving in on Saturday morning at Peace College in Raleigh, NC at 8am. I will be in Raleigh until the following Saturday competing, making new friends, and making tons of memories to last a lifetime. Please check the Miss NC section of the website for preliminary night break down's, as well as the address for Peace College. We would love to hear from all of you smile Check back after the pageant for photos of our journey.

With Miss NC on my mind and hopes of being able to serve the state of North Carolina I leave you with this to ponder...
